The pillow block mounted bearing housing material standard is JIS G3101 SS400 (general structural rolled steel with strong mechanical properties), and the commonly used FC200 (gray cast iron), FCD450 (ductile iron), SC450 (cast steel), compared to the load, reversal load, pulsation load, tensile strength of rolled steel, etc., are better some, therefore, the same size, different material bearing housing shell, the use of rolled steel material is more reliable.

The pillow block mounted bearing is suitable for applications involving heavy loads and vibrations, such as conveyors, trucks and overhead cranes in steel mills, mining machinery, crushers, vibrating screens and pollution control equipment.

Maintenance of pillow block mounted bearing

Special attention should be paid to the following points during the use of bearing housings:

  1. Use of cooling system for pillow block mounted bearing. When the cooling water of the bearing seat is used correctly, it not only prolongs the service life of the bearing seat, but also improves the production efficiency. The material of the pillow block mounted bearing is generally made of special bearing seat steel through various treatments, and even the best bearing seat steel has its limit of use, such as temperature. When the pillow block mounted bearing is in use, if the mold temperature is too high, it is easy to cause early cracks on the surface of the mold core. In the case of using cooling water for the pillow block mounted bearing, the use of release agent can be greatly reduced, so that the operator will not use the release agent to reduce the temperature of the bearing seat. The advantage is to effectively extend the life of the bearing seat, save the die-casting cycle, improve product quality, reduce the occurrence of mold sticking, strain and aluminum sticking, and reduce the use of release agents. It can also reduce the loss of the ejector pin and the core caused by the overheating of the bearing seat.
  2. Pillow block mounted bearing must preheat the bearing seat during the production process to prevent cracks from appearing when the cold bearing seat suddenly encounters hot metal liquid. More complex bearing seats can be used with blowtorch, liquefied petroleum gas, mold temperature machine if the conditions are good, and relatively simple bearing seats can be preheated by slow injection.
  3. The cleaning of the parting surface of the pillow block mounted bearing is very troublesome and easily overlooked. The operator should thoroughly clean the parting surface of the bearing seat with kerosene, which not only prevents the bearing seat from being crushed, but also clears the exhaust groove blocked by the residue of the release agent or other dirt on the bearing seat after cleaning. It is conducive to the discharge of gas in the cavity during the injection process to improve product quality.
  4. If the pillow block mounted bearing is equipped with neutron control, it is absolutely forbidden to have joints in the signal line between the die-casting machine and the bearing housing. The reason is clear. In daily production, it is difficult to avoid water on the signal line, or the place where the connector is wrapped is easy to break, resulting in a short circuit with the machine tool. If the signal error is caused, the alarm will automatically stop and delay the time, and the signal will be disordered, which will damage the bearing seat and cause unnecessary losses.
