Mounting method of the pillow block bearing

It is very important for the use of seated spherical bearings. Hope you can use the correct installation method in future use.

When installing, you can choose mechanical, heating or hydraulic methods according to its type and size. There are four main methods:

  1. Press-in cooperation method: first press the outer spherical bearing into the shaft with a punching machine, then insert the shaft and bearing into the bearing hole, pay attention to the end face of the inner ring of the bearing when pressing in, and contact the equipment sleeve made of soft metal material, so that the inner diameter of the equipment sleeve is larger than the diameter of the journal, and the diameter should be smaller than the inner ring rib of the rolling bearing. The outer side of the rolling bearing should cooperate closely with the hole of the bearing with the seat. If the inner ring and the shaft are loosely cooperated, the rolling bearing should be pressed into the hole of the bearing with the seat first. At this time, it should be noted that the diameter of the waterproof casing of the machine equipment should be lower than the diameter of the seat hole. Assuming that the bearing raceway ring is tightly connected with the shaft and seat hole, press the inner ring and outer ring into the shaft and seat hole.
  2. Heating cooperation method: This is a commonly used labor-saving equipment method, which uses the thermal expansion of the bearing heater to convert tight cooperation into loose cooperation. It is mainly to put the bearing or separable bearing ring into the tank and heat it evenly. The temperature range is generally 80-100 °C. After heating, take it out of the container and place it on the shaft as soon as possible. In order to prevent the bearing from cooling, the end face and shoulder of the inner ring are If the tightness is insufficient, axial tightening is possible. When the outer ring of the outer spherical bearing is strictly linked with the bearing seat, the method of heating the bearing seat can prevent the linkage surface from being damaged. When heating the bearing with the oil tank, the bearing cannot be placed directly on the bottom of the oil tank. Be sure to place the grid away from the bottom of the fuel tank, or directly use a hook to hoist the bearing. In addition, the fuel tank needs to be set with a thermometer to control the oil temperature not to exceed 100°C, which will cause a tempering effect and prevent the hardness of the ferrule from decreasing.
  3. Equipment for tapered bore bearings: If a clamping sleeve and a release sleeve are installed on the tapered surface, the tapered bore bearing device can be installed on the journal with the tapered surface. The rubber tension can be balanced by the radial clearance reduction of the bearing. The radial clearance of the bearing is measured before the equipment. During the equipment, the clearance must be measured regularly until the reduction of the required clearance stops. A lock nut is generally used for equipment, but a heated equipment method can also be used.
  4. Thrust bearing equipment: The thrust bearing equipment is relatively simple. First, fix the central shaft of the thrust bearing on the shaft to prevent rolling on the shaft. The connection between the bearing inner ring and the shaft is a fitting connection, and the connection between the bearing outer ring and the bearing chamber is a gap connection.

Do not tighten the bolts that fix the bearing seat first, so that the outer spherical bearing shell with the seat can rotate in the bearing seat. Re-tighten the bearing housing bolts. Also install the bearing and seat on the other end of the same shaft, turn the shaft a few times, and let the bearing itself find the correct position automatically.

Install eccentric sleeves. First put the eccentric sleeve on the eccentric step of the inner sleeve of the bearing, and tighten it in the direction of rotation of the shaft by hand. Then insert the small iron rod into or against the countersunk hole on the eccentric sleeve. Hit the small iron rod with the hand hammer in the direction of rotation of the shaft. Install the eccentric sleeve firmly, and finally tighten the hexagon socket head cap screw on the eccentric sleeve.

Before installing the outer spherical bearing with seat on the shaft, you must first pull out the fixing pin of the bearing shell, and at the same time smooth and clean the surface of the journal, and coat the journal with oil to prevent rust and lubricate (allow the bearing to rotate slightly on the shaft).

Apply lubricating oil on the mating surface of the bearing seat and the bearing, and install the bearing into the bearing seat. Then put the assembled bearing on the shaft together with the bearing seat. Push it to the desired position for installation.
